Hello Hello!
My name is Cynthia, I'm a digital artist and photographer based in Scotland. After many years of creating for myself I have finally decided to stop keeping my art hidden from the world and share it thanks to the amazing creative freedom that comes with NFTs.
I mainly create out of necessity, art has always been a great comfort and healthy outlet for me. In the past decade I've been very fortunate to have had the opportunity to find my passion and nurture it after a few years of burnout while I was trying to make my way in the world. I'm here to follow my dream and to finally build the courage to call myself an artist, which is all I've ever wanted and dreamt of.
A bit more about me
I was born in Chile and left with my family as political refugees to live in Sweden in the late 80s. Growing up, during politically turbulent times globally, I was fortunate to bond with various different cultures as we refugees and immigrants found comfort in each other as newcomers to a culture very different to what most had previously known.
Because of the different situations the people I met had come from, often oppressive governments, cultural heritage and art in all of its forms were heavily featured with pride. I learned so much about Iranian life before the ayatollahs, the Syrian empire, Bolivian and Peruvian folk dances, Vietnamese food culture and the list goes on. Looking back, I have a lot of fond memories of being to multiple parties where I didn't understand a word of what was being said but somehow I was still included and treated as a part of the family. These experiences have been heavy influences in my life and creative mind.
Freedom of expression is something a lot of people take for granted and I've constantly been reminded of how important it is through my life. Same goes for the rights of women. While I live in a society which is generally free there is still a lot of things women "aren't supposed to do". With my art I do want to challenge gender stereotypes, I want to show that we are worth more than what mass media under the capitalist machine wants us to think and also help people see that we are allowed to wear our heart on our sleeves. There's nothing wrong with being caring and still be driven, they can absolutely go together.
I have always wanted to share what I do but nothing felt right until recently when I discovered NFTs. The freedom that comes with being your own curator is exciting! I'm looking forward to sharing new work with you all now that I have found my own styles and I hope that you'll be here with me for the crazy ride.
